The Applegater

The voice of the Applegate: Your community, your newspaper since 1994. Nonprofit news, free for all.

Mission

The goal of the Applegate Valley Community Newspaper, Inc., is to provide the many communities of the Applegate watershed with a communication vehicle, the Applegater, that will provide educational information, increase community networking, and represent all the area’s diverse communities. Through honest, constructive, relevant, and entertaining reports on a wide variety of subjects and viewpoints, including our natural resources, historical and current events, and community news, we can work together to enhance the quality of life we have in the Applegate and continue to make a difference in our valley.

About our journalism

The Applegater newsmagazine has served as the voice of the 700-square mile Applegate Valley since 1994. It’s the only publication uniting the 20,000 residents in seven hamlets and assorted neighborhoods scattered across three counties and two states. It’s a community paper serving community interests, mailed free to all four times a year. It’s all local and always free, all funded by reader donations and business advertising. Applegater content is from the community, by the community, and for the community.
