Mission
Boyle Heights Beat is a bilingual community news project based in the East Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights. Its mission is to train high school youth to become community journalists, elevating the voices of the community- by producing stories “por y para la comunidad” — or “for and by the community,”” and empowering young reporters to become community leaders and conveners.
