North Carolina Health News

News. Policy. Trends. Your health is our mission.

Mission

North Carolina Health News is an independent, not-for-profit, statewide news organization dedicated to covering health care in North Carolina employing the highest journalistic standards of fairness, accuracy and extensive research.

We were founded in response to the decrease in health reporters around the state. We were founded because we believe that to make the best decisions about their health care and about the state’s health care system, the citizens of North Carolina need the best information possible.

NC Health News seeks to remain the premiere source for health reporting in North Carolina.

About our journalism

We cover all things health care, health policy and public health: environmental health, prison health, gender health, state health policy, aging issues, Medicaid, rural health, mental health, oral health, children’s health and the business of health care.

We have also formed publication partnerships with local television news stations (WRAL-Raleigh), public radio stations and other digital media organizations, such as The Charlotte Ledger.
