The Harpswell News is a non-partisan, non-profit and news and information source committed to building community and enhancing the lives of local residents, businesses, and non-profit organizations by providing trusted local information on topics of interest to the community.
About our journalism
We are new to the nonprofit world: we established ourselves in early 2021 and relaunched the local and beloved paper the Harpswell Anchor that had been operating as a for-profit venture for 22 years. It closed in 2020 due to financial problems related to COVID-19.
