Los Angeles Reporting Collective

A New Look At Southern California

Mission

Los Angeles Reporting Collective (LARC) is a nonprofit project supporting emerging journalists and civic media across Southern California. We provide free mentorship, training, and collaborative opportunities that help reporters develop skills and tell stories that matter. Rooted in values of equity, transparency and local impact, LARC collaborates with partners like KCRW, LAist and the LA Press Club on accessible public programming that uplifts underrepresented voices of our region.

About our journalism

LARC produces solutions journalism about the unrepresented parts of Southern California. Our stories are produced by our reporters-in-residence, early-career journalists reporting on people, organizations and communities on the margins. Stories produced for our podcast include profiles of a Japanese American baseball league, one of the oldest queer bars in Los Angeles, an accessible community chess program in Culver City, and many more.
